Know when a competitor changes a price.

Watch competitor product pages, category pages, and pricing pages. SiteChime checks them on a schedule and chimes when the next check sees a price, discount, or stock state move — with the old value, the new value, and the diff in plain English.

The problem

Your pricing is only as fresh as your last manual check.

Most pricing teams keep a spreadsheet of competitor SKUs and round-robin someone to open all of them twice a week. The result: you find out a competitor cut their flagship price 4 days late, after the retailer-of-record dashboard has already noticed.

SiteChime turns each competitor URL into a watched page. When the price tile, sale banner, “from $X” range, or stock pill changes, you get an email with the diff — usually within an hour on Pro, within fifteen minutes on Pro+.

How it works

Public storefronts and logged-in B2B catalogs.

Cloud mode

For public storefronts.

Paste the URL of any competitor product page, category page, or public pricing page. SiteChime fetches it from our servers on a schedule and compares each snapshot to the previous one.

Hourly checks on Pro · 15-minute checks on Pro+

Browser mode

For B2B catalogs behind a login.

Distributor portals, wholesale catalogs, and contract-pricing pages usually require an account. Install the Chrome extension, sign in once in your own browser, and SiteChime watches the page from inside your session.

Your password never leaves your machine. Only the extracted page text is uploaded. Get the extension.

What gets monitored

The pages your pricing team keeps refreshing.

Product page prices

Watch the price tile on a competitor PDP. Get an alert when it moves, with the old and new value and the percentage delta in the summary line.

"From $X" range tiles

Variant ranges shift when a competitor adds a new size or colorway. SiteChime catches changes to the "From" floor and the "to" ceiling separately.

Sale banners & strike-through pricing

Promo banners and was/now pricing tell you a sale started, not just that a number changed. Watch the banner block to know when discounting kicks in.

Stock state & availability

Pick the stock pill or the add-to-cart region. Alerts fire on the flip between in-stock, low-stock, and out-of-stock — not just on the price.

Bundle & subscription pricing

Subscribe-and-save discounts, bundle savings, and multi-pack pricing usually live in their own DOM block. Pick that block and watch it directly.

Shipping & threshold changes

Free-shipping thresholds and shipping-cost tiers are common quiet competitive levers. Watch the shipping line on the cart page or the storefront banner.

Example alert

What an alert looks like.

Price changed

Price dropped on “Acme Mesh Office Chair”

Price moved from $329 to $279 — a drop of $50 (15%). The “Save 15%” sale banner appeared at the same time.

Why SiteChime

Built for pricing teams that need to react in hours, not days.

Section-level precision

Visually pick the exact price tile, sale banner, or stock pill. Header redesigns, footer changes, and unrelated PDP edits don’t trigger alerts.

Plain-English diff summary

Each alert leads with what changed in one sentence — "Price dropped from $329 to $279, –11%" — above the raw diff. No more squinting at HTML.

Email, Slack, Discord, webhook

Route price alerts to the channel your pricing team already lives in. Push to Slack, Discord, or any webhook destination on Pro and above.

Price targets, not just any change

Set a rule like "alert me when this drops below $250" and SiteChime only chimes when the threshold crosses — quieter inbox, sharper signal.

Works on JS-heavy storefronts

Modern e-commerce sites render prices client-side. SiteChime captures the rendered text, not the raw HTML, so dynamic prices are caught reliably.

Failure transparency

When a check fails (the site blocked our request, the page structure shifted, a Cloudflare challenge appeared), the dashboard tells you why in plain language.

FAQ

Common questions from pricing teams.

How often can SiteChime check a competitor page?

Free includes one check per day. Pro is hourly. Pro+ is every 15 minutes. We don’t check more aggressively than that — it’s rarely useful and we don’t want to look like an attack to the target site.

Will the competitor know I’m watching their pricing?

Cloud-mode checks come from our servers at the cadence your plan allows. We send normal browser headers and don’t try to defeat rate limits or bot detection. If a site explicitly blocks us, the dashboard tells you and you can either move that watch to browser mode (which runs from your own browser) or remove it.

Can I watch only the price, and ignore everything else on the page?

Yes. The visual section picker lets you pick the specific price tile, sale banner, or stock pill. Changes outside that section don’t trigger an alert, even if the rest of the page shifts.

Does this work on B2B portals with contract pricing?

Yes — use browser mode. Install the extension, sign in to the distributor portal once in your own browser, and SiteChime watches the page from inside your session. We never store your password and never log in for you.

Can I get alerts only when the price drops below a target?

Yes. Each watch supports an alert rule like "alert when price drops below $X" or "alert when price rises above $X". The watch still runs at its full schedule — you just don’t hear about it unless the threshold crosses.

How does pricing work?

Free includes 5 watches with daily checks. Pro is $9/month for 25 watches with hourly checks plus Slack, Discord, and webhook destinations. Pro+ is $19/month for 50 watches with 15-minute checks and a priority queue.

Catch the next price move before your customers do.
